Mimosas and Mercedes – A Sunday morning gathering of female auto enthusiasts hosted by CRASH Jewelry at Beverly Coachcraft.

There are many things in Beverly Hills that you know, just go together. For example, traffic and Santa Monica Blvd, traffic and Wilshire Blvd, and traffic and…well, you get it. But oh, let’s not forget to leave out luxury cars (such as Mercedes-Benz) and Rodeo Drive. Another great pair that just seems to naturally mesh is CRASH Jewelry and Beverly Coachcraft, and in early October, we co-hosted an eloquent morning of networking, shopping, beauty, and of course, fun.

CRASH Jewelry makes sustainable cuffs, bangles, earrings, necklaces and accessories from the metal of luxury automobiles that have been in minor accidents. Christi Schimpke, the founder of CRASH Jewelry, came up with the idea to create fashion jewelry from cars when she moved her studio into her husband’s Los Angeles body shop, Beverly Coachcraft, which specializes in collision repairs for late-model Mercedes-Benzs, BMWs, Audis, Bentleys, Porsches, Maseratis, and more. CRASH is completely different from most jewelry. At first glance, you won’t even comprehend that it is a cuff or necklace made from the hood, door, or quarter panel taken from a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale. Now isn’t that just the coolest thing ever? Many picked up a few pieces for themselves and their friends, as the holidays are coming up soon and this is such a perfect gift! Be sure to check out their site here for their latest offerings.

The event welcomed owners of all makes of cars which really brightened up Sawtelle Blvd. From a pink wrapped Mercedes-Benz C-Class, to a purple McLaren 720S, a red Porsche GT3 RS, a black BMW M2, a fan favorite modified E63 AMG Wagon, and even a 1962 Mercedes-Benz 220S!

Amongst the networking and new relationships brought together, Mimosas and Mercedes also provided some unique experiences for all of the guests. Food tastings provided by personal chef services, Set the Table LA, had us wanting to know more about the health benefits of their whole food cooking. Jeunesse Global Orange County was on-site to share their beauty and wellness products, and finally, Queen Bee Salon and Spa set up a brow shaping area that almost everyone took advantage of. A bonus activity was a tour of the Beverly Coachcraft facility. Not many get to see firsthand the behind the scenes of what goes on at a Mercedes-Benz Elite Facility, so the tour was very well received!

For an inaugural event by CRASH Jewelry at Beverly Coachcraft, we were extremely impressed at the diverse backgrounds and stories of all the ladies that joined us. Stay tuned as we explore more events in the future to continue contributing to the auto enthusiasts in West LA.
