Is Your Next Car a Mercedes-Benz? – Here are 4 reasons why the answer should be YES.
The Mercedes-Benz brand was founded 91 years ago with a mission to move the world. We can all agree that they have done that exceptionally well, with a wealth of advancements to come in the very near future. Our team at Beverly Coachcraft recently visited Mercedes-Benz of Beverly Hills and while there, took an in depth look at four recent models that we would proudly add to our driveway.
2020 AMG GT R Coupe
OK, yes, we kicked it off with a car that should go in the garage, and not the driveway. The 2020 AMG GT R Coupe. Developed in the Green Hell (the Nurburgring to most of us, that crazy test track in Germany to the rest of us), the AMG GT R is the perfect combination of Motorsport and Street in an aggressive, yet refined offering from Affalterbach. Power comes in at 577 horsepower from the 4.0L V8 Biturbo engine, lightweight housing, active aero, and plenty of performance innovations. Throw in proven braking, a race-bred suspension, a true cockpit interior, and that gets you a 0-60 mph acceleration of 3.5 seconds. Need we say more?
2020 AMG GT 63 S
When the AMG experience needs to be shared with more than one passenger. Add in much of the above from the GT R, but also include AMG Performance 4MATIC+ for torque distribution and active rear-wheel steering, AMG Dynamic Select for a range of driving programs, and Air Body Control which lowers at speed to intensify aero and stability. Finally, the additional cabin space to accommodate four passengers in executive rear seating featuring a glass Panorama roof and functional touchscreen console. What does all of this mean? A highly capable Touring style AMG with Motorsport DNA that the whole family can enjoy together.
2020 GLE SUV
Now roomier and with several interior, exterior, and drivetrain options to tailor your style, the luxury SUV that started the segment is almost in a category of its own. Looking for the right amount of power and performance? How about 6 GLE powertrain options ranging from a 2.0L inline-4 turbo, up to a handcrafted AMG 5.5L V8 biturbo. New technology to include hands-free driving up to 37 mph and lane change assistance are just a start. Cabin amenities sound like a visit to the spa with features such as seat heating, ventilation, and massage with ambient lighting options. To top off the reinvigorating cabin experience, ionize-purified air can also be infused with a fragrance. All of a sudden, that new third row seating isn’t the only reason you chose the GLE.
2020 S560 4MATIC Sedan
The “Special Class” has been around since 1972, and now in its sixth generation, it continues to be the luxury destination that truly defines Mercedes-Benz. The example we viewed was finished in a ravishing Rubellite Red Metallic over designo Porcelain/Espresso Brown Exclusive Nappa Leather. We could end the review here and have proven our point, but let’s tell you more. Always the trend setter, the 2020 S560 4MATIC Sedan offers 100% LED lighting inside and out, wireless charging front and rear, 64 colors to choose from for your ambient lighting, and side by side dual 12.3-inch panoramic screens which display your instrument panel, and entertainment and navigation. On to the road, the standard AIRMATIC air suspension gives you that balance of precise cornering and plush ride, while power is provided by the 4.0L V8 biturbo producing 463 horsepower and 516 lb-ft torque. Performance is then delivered to the tires via 4MATIC all-wheel-drive for another level of handling. Elegance once again redefined. This is the new S Class.
